As many as a dozen firefighters were transported to the hospital for observation on Monday after a three-alarm chemical fire at a jewelry manufacturer in Cranston, Rhode Island. Firefighters raced in from neighboring towns initially to fight a small fire turned hazardous.

Two teenagers have been charged with the stabbing of a 15 year-old girl at Kennedy Plaza early Thursday evening. Providence Police said the victim was stabbed in the leg around 5:00 p.m. and transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital, where she is in stable condition.

Fire officials say a fire in Cranston has destroyed a barn and killed at least 11 animals. The three-story barn, estimated to be about 100 by 100 feet in size, burned to the ground Sunday morning. WPRI-TV reports the barn contained animals including goats and horses and a machine shop.
